Google updated not too long ago and this blog has found it’s way into a PageRank 1 in only a month. I set the blog up at this domain on March 3rd and really haven’t put a significant amount of work into it besides writing a few posts and registering it with a few places. Alexa is still giving it a 1.5M ranking, which is simply no good. We’re doing about 700k on Compete and nothing on MozRank. All in all though, for a month, really not too bad. It’s like fishing. You get better bait or a wider net. (more…)

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009Design is attention. I’m not a purist in any sense of the word. Design to me is anything that catches the eye of your intended audience. Bad design is a good thing if it attracts the right people in the intended way. This can be a humor appeal, shock value, or a misrepresentation of the competition… you know, limelight by disassociation? Heck, if you write a nineteen page paper on the scientific intricacies of why the Pepsi logo should look like Fat Albert took a sit on it for a while… and you get publicity for it… well, whatever. It’s what it is–my favorite argument killer, so let’s move on. “YO!” I saw that on a billboard.
At the shooting range…
Thursday, March 5th, 2009It was a dark and stormy night, well… it drizzled a little, and it was about as dark as any other night gets after the sun puts its head to bed. I was at On Target, an indoor shooting range in Irvine, CA taking some photos. I don’t see a whole lot of photos of gun flashes, so I thought it would be worthwhile to post about it here. While this isn’t truly ballistic photography in its specialized and advanced nature, it is “ballistic” and it is photography.
